Semi-formal sits in between: dressier than Sadie Hawkins, lighter than prom, and usually dropped into the middle of the school year when nothing else is on the calendar. The groups are mid-sized, the night is shorter, and the budget matters more than it does in May.

Unlike other Party Bus companies, we have a very strict selection process for our drivers. They must have many years of commercial experience, a good knowledge of the Twin Cities roads and highways, must be timely, and have a friendly personality. We also have the highest driver retention. Most of our drivers have been with us for years, and a number of them since we originally opened in 2008.

Semi-formal groups usually run fifteen to twenty-five students, which puts the minis and mediums right in range. The rate you see is our dance-date rate, and it is identical for homecoming, prom and Sadie Hawkins.

We want the group to have the best experience possible! These are some rules we want the groups and parents to follow to make sure everything goes smoothly.
We require that a parent or legal guardian makes the reservation online. We will not accept a reservation from a student, an older sibling, or friend. We will make follow up phone calls with the parents to make sure all the information is accurate.
We will not allow any alcohol on board and we will actively monitor the students.
A parent must be available on pick up. We ask that they help the students get ready.
A parent or parents must be available on call if needed.
We allow refreshments such as water, pop, Gatorade, etc, but the parent will have to be responsible for it. Parents will need to load the bus with any refreshments for the students. All bottles, cans, etc, must be unopened. Students will not be allowed to bring any refreshments on or off the bus.
A parent should be present on drop off to help the students unload.
Semi-formal dates are scattered across the Twin Cities calendar: some schools run theirs in December, others in January or February, and a few pair it with a winter sports weekend. Because the dates are spread out, availability is better than prom or homecoming. The exception is December, when semi-formals compete with holiday party bookings for the same Saturdays.

Yes. We require a parent or legal guardian to make the reservation for school-dance rentals.
No. Zero alcohol is allowed on school-dance rentals, and our drivers actively monitor the bus all night.

Our buses seat 15 to 40, so one bus can carry the whole group. Most groups pick a full-size 35-seater.
Dance Saturdays fill quickly. Book 3–4 weeks ahead.
Most semi-formal groups land between fifteen and twenty-five students, which is the mini and medium range. If you are close to the line, size up, a 20 seat bus with eighteen students in formalwear is more comfortable than a 15 seat bus with fifteen.
Yes. One parent or guardian books the bus and takes responsibility for the reservation, and the group can come from wherever. Semi-formal dates are spread across the calendar, so this comes up more here than at prom.
Yes. Decorations are welcome. The one rule is nothing that gets ground into the floor or upholstery, so no glitter, confetti, silly string or paint.
We rented the small bus with 11 of us. We had 2.5 coolers and surprisingly was still able to dance around! The bus driver was really cool and flexible with our schedule! We went to the club and came back and stayed on the bus the rest of the night dancing away! The sound system was so good it felt like a club inside!
